About Jason Hooey

Hey what's up?! I'm Jason Hooey — artist, designer, husband, father, mentor and voice. Born and raised in Texas, working to impact the world one person at a time.

Most of what I make starts as something in my head that won't leave me alone. A phrase, an image, a point I want to make. It ends up on a shirt, a canvas, a hat or a wall. If you're wearing one of my pieces, you're carrying a statement I meant.

What I make

Visual art, music, graphics and stories — I tell them on whichever canvas fits. My professional background is in project management and branding, which is the part people don't expect: I can make the thing, and I can run the job that delivers it on time.

Bad Alphabet

The name came from teaching my community about crypto assets — the ABCs of crypto and the blockchain, explained in slang and plain talk instead of formal terms. Hence the "Bad" in Bad Alphabet. Plus, bad is cool if you ask MJ.

It started as an educational page and took on legs of its own as my Web 3.0 alias. I have an NFT art collection called Percy's POV — my perspective on certain social environments, always with a positive focal point or a resolution to sum up how to move through them. BMP Vision

BMP Vision is my company — the side that handles custom apparel, embroidery, promotional products and design for organizations, teams and businesses. Campus organizations, Greek chapters, nonprofits, churches and small businesses. Runs from a dozen pieces to six hundred and up.

The Because I Can Foundation

Because I Can is a nonprofit my wife Danielle and I founded in Houston in 2021. It started as a mentorship program encouraging youth and adults to recognize and pursue their full potential by eliminating "can't" from our vocabulary — motivational speaking, accented with a pin of affirmation as a visual reminder to always bet on yourself.
